DIAGRAM 1 OF 2: Crank Angle Sensor Circuit
Here's a simplified ignition system wiring diagram for the 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994 2.4L Nissan D21 Pickup. This is Part 1 and focuses on the crank angle sensor inside the distributor.
The crank angle sensor is the defacto crankshaft position sensor that the PCM uses to trigger the power transistor.
The following tutorials will help you test the ignition coil, the power transistor, and the crank angle sensor:
- How To Test The Ignition Coil 1992-1994 Nissan D21 Pickup.
- How To Test The Power Transistor 1992-1994 Nissan D21 Pickup.
- How To Test The Crank Angle Sensor (1990-1996 2.4L Nissan Pickup).
In the next page you'll find Part 2, which focuses on the Power Transistor (Ignition Control Module) and Ignition Coil.
