Intake Manifold Torque Specifications
NOTE: The image above displays the recommended tightening sequence for the intake manifold. This tightening sequence will help prevent vacuum leaks and premature gasket failure.

It's important to avoid using any type of sealant, such as RTV silicone, on the intake manifold gaskets.
However, a 5mm bead of RTV silicone is applied only on the front and rear block sealing surfaces. Before applying the silicone, ensure that the front and rear block sealing surfaces are clean and free of oil and water.
Cylinder Head Torque Specifications
Above is the suggested tightening sequence for the cylinder head bolts to avoid premature gasket failure.
NOTE: Install the cylinder head gaskets dry. In other words, don't coat them in any type of sealant (like RTV Silicone). Installing them dry will ensure a job that won't come back.

When installing the cylinder heads, it's essential to use a special sealant on the head bolt threads to ensure proper installation.
The factory manual recommends using GM 1052080 sealant for this purpose. Alternatively, Loctite 1158514 Head Bolt and Water Jacket Sealant can also be used.
